When to Contact Your Lawyer about a Slip and Fall Incident | Chappell Law Group

Nearly everyone has slipped and fell on something, but you would be surprised to learn that according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), floors and flooring materials contribute directly to more than 2 million fall in juries every year. If you’re on the younger side, slipping and falling isn’t a big concern, but if you’re 60+ years old, slipping and falling can prove to be fatal. In 2005 alone 15,000 people over the age of 65 died as a result of slip and fall accidents. In addition to the fatality of slipping and falling, 22% of slip/fall incidents resulted in more than 31 days away from work (US Bureau of Labor Statistics (2002). Since most people work for a living, missing work can prove to be catastrophic, and even more so if you have a family to provide for.
